Must to open Blantyre campus

Malawi University of Science and Technology (Must) has signed a lease agreement with Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC) to establish a new campus at MPC Conference Centre in Blantyre.

Speaking during the signing on Friday, Must vice-chancellor Professor Address Malata said the agreement is a milestone to their mission of providing equal access to tertiary education nationwide.

She said: “The new campus aligns with the university’s broader goal of expanding its services to all regions of Malawi, in line with the nation’s vision under Malawi 2063.

“By expanding into Blantyre, we are bringing opportunities closer to the people.”

Malata also revealed that the university has acquired land in Lilongwe and Mzuzu, where plans are underway to construct additional campuses.

On his part, MPC postmaster general Angel Banda said the partnership will not only enhance their operations, but also contribute to the growth of higher education in the country.

“This collaboration will play a vital role in increasing access to education for individuals in and around Blantyre, thereby fostering national development,” Banda remarked.
