Lilongwe-based hip-hop artist, Mwanache’s music career took a bold step this year after he clinched a deal with Kutchira Entertainment, an artist and events management company from Blantyre.

The rapper, who began his career as a teenager in 2008, has been releasing singles which, after six years in the game, helped him catch the attention of the stable that offered him the deal in April.

Mwanache, born Limbani Mulolo, is one exciting young rappers whose combination of English and vernacular rap, coupled with his tongue twisting style likened to renowned American rapper Twista, always keeps the local hip-hop world buzzing every time he drops a beat.

As the 24-year-old braces to make his debut under Kutchira Entertainment with a new album Inkosi Mwanache, he fired the game last week with two new sizzling singles Moto and Inkosi.

“Mwanache is one versatile rapper in the country, so unique and nobody has such the skill that he has. That, mixed with proper direction, will impact the whole nation of Malawi, and with his new album coming, he won’t be the same artist,” touted rapper Barry One, the musician’s manager at Kutchira Entertainment.

“His two latest singles carry an African element to maintain the African identity and represents where Mwanache is coming from,” said his manager.

“Moto

is a sample from South African popular outfit, Freshlyground’s track titled Moto Wayaka”.

According to Barry One, himself a renowned local hip-hop artist trading, Inkosi Mwanache will be released before the end of this year, saying the album, which has production from several producers among them Janta and Foxxy, is almost complete.

Mwanache grew up in the capital city Lilongwe and currently stays in Area 25A where his music began with his first single Worse Memories, which he released before he teamed up with Emotionz to record songs such as Khala Tcheru and I Gat To Say.

He grew up to becoming one of the rising rappers to be reckoned with in Lilongwe and appeared on Moving With Time, which featured the Capital City’s rising stars, among them Mc Kold, Em-Paul, Emotionz, Skiz-D, Complex, Macelba and Big Tar.

Mwanache rose to prominence in 2010 after a string of hits including his favourite Ndimafuna, which surprised people of the tongue twisting style.
