Mwaungulu, Nkhoma excited to be back at Mazembe
Flames midfielder Patrick Mwaungulu and attacker Lanjesi Nkhoma say they are excited to be back at their parent club TP Mazembe following a loan spell at Don Bosco.
The former FCB Nyasa Bullets players were signed by the Democratic Republic of Congo’s top-tier Vodacom League 1 giants in August last year.

However, they were loaned out to Don Bosco as they could not be registered due to a Fifa transfer ban. But following the lifting of the ban, Mazembe have now registered the two players.
Mwaungulu said in an interview: “Obviously, my wish was to be with Mazembe, but we had to accept the situation and be loaned out to Bosco. That’s what happens in football. So, the return to Mazembe is exciting.”
His teammate Nkhoma also said he was glad to be back to the club that originally signed him.
While at Don Bosco, Mwaungulu made an immediate impact, scoring crucial goals, including one against his parent club in Mazembe’s 2-1 victory.
Don Bosco finished sixth in the league’s group A to qualify for the elite nine-team National Championship play offs.
The two players’ return has also generated some excitement among Mazembe’s fans.
One of the supporters with username MB Mashamba, writing on TP Mazembe’s Facebook page, could hold his excitement.
“We’re counting on you, dear Patrick,” he said.
Another one Jean Kakonge Kyapi, wrote: “Very happy to have you back Patrick.”
On his part, Ello Seed said: “Finally we have the new player [Mwaungulu].”
Meanwhile, Mazembe were on Wednesday facing Aigles Du Congo in the National Championship play-offs.
