Acoustic gospel singer Patience Namadingo has earned himself a return to perform at the ZAMFEST 2018 edition having performed at a similar event last year.

Namadingo will star alongside globally established acts like South Africa’s Mafikizolo for the event which is slated for April 28th in Lusaka.

The Sinjenjemera hit maker could not hide his joy on his selection to be Malawi’s flag career at the highly acclaimed regional event for the second year running.

“Last with my band we flew to Lusaka to be part of this great event. I am convinced that what we did there last time is what has convinced the organisers to bring us on board again this year,” he said.

Namadingo says the opportunity to share the stage with world class artists is always an exciting prospect. During last year’s event the Malawian musician shared the stage with Zimbabwe’s icon Oliver Mtukudzi.

Namadingo said; “We are so honoured. If we are not the only ones then we are among the few that have made a return to the ZAMFEST this year from the cast that was on show last year. That to us means a lot.

“There is a lot that can happen during such events. We meet these big stars in the backstage and we interact, so you never know what can come out from such meetings.”

Last year an estimated 10 000 audience attended the event but this time around the figure is expected to rise. Other top African artists who will perform at the event are expected to be unveiled later on.

ZAMFEST is Zambia’s biggest food festival with a wide selection of international and local cuisine and live music. The festival which is expected to take place at the Lusaka Showgrounds Main Arena is sponsored by leading mobile operators MTN.
