NBM family day excites LL

It was a family day to remember at Peak Gardens in Lilongwe on Sunday when top local artists Eli Njuchi, Praise Umali, Temwa, Kelly Kay and Fada Moti took turns in entertaining the audience.

The performances were part of the National Bank of Malawi’s (NBM) plc Family Day, a celebration which the bank’s marketing and corporate affairs manager Akossa Hiwa said was organised to network with customers and their families after a successful Mo626 campaign.

First to perform was Fada Moti, reviving the stage and setting the tone for a day of delight with his popular hit Kutali.

Temwa joined with Mvetsera, igniting the crowd with energy. The moves continued with Praise Umali’s soulful voice soaring with Nkadzakondanso, with the audience dancing and singing along.

Amid the music performances, Jane Senenge’s poems came through, refreshing the audience and leaving them asking for more.

Before the excitement died down, Eli Njuchi joined the stage with Gugugu, electrifying the atmosphere and later Kell Kay, the grand finale artist for the event, sang Mayo Mayo.

The event, hosted by renowned MBC Radio 2 DJ Joy Nathu, ran for the whole day and saw patrons enjoying not only live music, but cultural showcases, wellness activities and some fun games for all ages.

To ensure a truly relaxed environment, the event also featured a relaxation lounge to allow families to unwind. Children enjoyed jumping castles, face painting, arts and crafts, among other features.

In an interview on the sidelines of the event, Hiwa said the bank was excited to have accomplished what they planned through the campaign that sought to raise the awareness and engagement of different Mo626 products.

She said the family day underscored the bank’s appreciation of its people and its commitment to shared growth.

“As a bank, we are happy that our campaign was successful and we decided to close off with a family day to relax and network with our customers,” said Hiwa.

One of the patrons, Chimwemwe Maloya, an entrepreneur and director at Oriatu Grills, said the day gave him an opportunity to connect with more customers, adding he also appreciates Mo626 as it eases banking transactions.

“I appreciate how NBM interacts with its customers. Today, they have given me a chance to sell my products here while also having fun,” he said.
