Nomads boss tells Kamwendo, Gift Mkandawire to shut up
Be Forward Wanderers chairperson Symon Sikwese has hit at the club’s former midfielder Joseph Kamwendo and his predecessor Gift Mkandawire over their sentiments regarding the former’s status.
This follows Kamwendo’s claims that the club has not paid him for the past three months for his role as technical assistant and the move by Mkandawire to back his claims, saying he is entitled to salary.
However, that has not gone down well with Sikwese who has said Kamwendo has no place at Wanderers unless his behaviour changes.
“We have nothing to do with Kamwendo unless he improves on his attitude and behaviour.
“I called him to discuss the issue of his status and, therefore, he had no reasons to blow the issue in the press,” he said.
Turning to Mkandawire, the Nomads boss said: “Actually Gift should be the last person to comment on Wanderers issues because we are actually struggling because of the mess his committee left.
“Let him and Kamwendo produce contracts to prove their claims or else they should shut up. He [Mkandawire] is undermining the current executive committee.”
Both Kamwendo and Mkandawire refused to comment yesterday.
Said Kamwendo: “The chairperson called me and we spoke, so it’s fine.”
Earlier this week, Mkandawire said Kamwendo was being paid last season for his role as a technical panel member.
“At the time we left, he was employed as a technical assistant to drill the youth side and at the same time, he was also a technical adviser in the senior team.
“So, yes, he had a post and it means he was employed unless the current executive [committee] made changes,” he said.
