Mighty Wanderers say they have invested K10 million in an SMS promotion to roll out this Saturday.

The club’s general secretary Mike Butao said the SMS promotion will run on TNM network and will be launched at Kamuzu Stadium during the Blantyre derby against their age-old rivals Big Bullets.

“The objective of the SMS promotion is to raise funds that will enable the team to be self-sustainable in the next two seasons,” said Butao.

Asked how different it will be from TNM’s Sapota Mapeto promotion, Butao said: “We are also involved in Sapota Mapeto promotion that is run by the league’s sponsor, but at the same time we’ll be running our own promotion simultaneously to complement earnings from the Sapota Mapeto.”

He said their promotion has attractive incentives.

“We are launching the SMS promotion jointly with the TNM dealership initiative with TNM whereby we’ll be selling their products such as smart cards in return for a commission,” said Butao.

He said the Nomads are targeting to recover costs of the prizes through the joint venture and Sapota Mapeto promotion and as well additional money that will make the club self-sustainable.

“Details pertaining to the initiative will be unveiled at the launch,” he said.

Bullets and Silver Strikers are some of the teams that are also involved in the dealership programme with TNM.
