In Lilongwe, Civo United were booted out of the Carlsberg Cup following a 1-0 loss at the hands of Support Battalion at Silver Stadium.
An early goal from Mphatso Mlauzi broke the hearts of Civo faithfuls.
The visitors held on to the slender lead to book a place in the quarter-finals.
It is a second successive appearance for Support in this competition.
Last year, they lost to Zomba United at the same stage.
“It was a great win considering that we faced a Super League side. We were confident on the ball and deserved to win. I am proud of my boys,” said assistant coach Staff Sergeant Manto Lampu in a post-match brief.
“Now, all we have to do is focus on the next game. We can go all the way. It is just two games remaining,” said Lampu.
