Police in Ntchisi have arrested 21-year-old Sankhulani Chipelera for attempting to commit suicide after his girlfriend ended their love affair.
Ntchisi police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha told The Nation that the incident happened during the night ofSaturday at Chipelera Village in Traditional Authority Kalumo in the district.
M’bumpha said: “Chipelera is alleged to have attempted to commit suicide after he picked a quarrel with his girlfriend who later ended the relationship.
This prompted the suspect to decide to kill himself so that he should forget everything but he was rescued by his brother who heard a strange noise from the roof of the house.”
