One Goal Queens thrash KB Sisters

One Goal Queens on Sunday benefited from home ground advantage as they beat Kamuzu Barracks Sisters 9-0 to bag full points.

This was Central Region Arthur Mutharika Women Football League (CRWFL) played at Kalambo ground in Lilongwe’s Area 25.

It was a one-sided affair that saw Chifundo Mwimba steering the victory after she notched four goals whereas Omega Kapulukira scored a brace. The other goals were scored by Edith Banda, Tiko Zidana and Fatsani Kazembe.

Queens played with eight players in the first-half as some players came late due to rains. At half-time, they were leading 4-0.

Queens coach Yasin Zidana said he was not surprised by the margin of the win as they have assembled a good team this season. He said their mission is to stop DD Sunshine’s dominance in the region.

“The players are responding well to instructions. With this dedication and commitment, the mission will be accomplished,” said Zidana.

With the victory, Queens are on second position with nine points from three games.

Other Sunday results: DD Sunshine 14  Chisomo Academy 0, SOS 2 Ngomano 1.
