Pika Manondo denied bail, to stay 50 days in custody

The High Court sitting in Lilongwe has denied bail to one of the suspects in former Malawi budget director shooting Pika Manondo on the grounds that he is a flight risk.

The court has ordered Manondo to remain in custody for 50 days.

Pika Manondo is being accused of making an attempt on the life of Mphwiyo. Days after Mphwiyo’s shooting. Manondo was reported to have fled Malawi and placed on Interpol wanted list.

But he later surrendered himself to the Police in Karonga.
