Sailesi leaves for Zambia today

Nyasa Big Bullets and Flames midfielder Dalitso Sailesi leaves for Zambia today where he is expected to complete his deal with MTN League outfit Lusaka Dynamos.

There was confusion on whether the player has been offered an outright contract by Power Dynamos of Kitwe or Lusaka Dynamos.

Lusaka bound: Sailesi

But yesterday, player intermediary Felix Ngamanya Sapao, who is facilitating the deal, clarified that the versatile midfielder is heading to Lusaka Dynamos.

He said: “Please note that Dalitso [Sailesi] is not joining Power Dynamos FC. The club that has agreed terms with Bullets is Lusaka Dynamos. It is very unprofessional for any media house to contact a club and ask about a proposed move for a player, who is under contract with another.

“Usually, clubs prefer unveiling a player once the contract of sell is signed, personal terms are agreed and a medical is complete. Because if there is more intrusion prior to completion of the deal, it might fall through.”

The player is expected to leave for Zambia today, according to Sapao.

“But note that if all works out and passport copies of the travelling contingent are sent to Zambia as per a request just sent, the boy, the Nyasa Big Bullets chairperson [Noel Lipipa] and the boy’s manager should leave for Lusaka tomorrow [today] to complete the deal,” he said.

Sapao, however, could not reveal the financial details of the deal, saying they are confidential as only the two clubs can release them.

Straight from Cosafa Cup where he had a grand tournament, Sailesi found an offer on the table from the Zambian Premier League side.

There have been calls that the player should wait for other potential suitors, preferably from South Africa.

But Sapao hit at the critics of the deal, saying Zambia League is competitive than Malawi Super League; hence a stepping stone to European clubs for the player.
