Flames new coach Tom Saintfiet has named a 20-man squad for the 2013 Cosafa tournament currently underway in Zambia.

He has kept faith with most players used by assistant coach Edington Ng’onamo in his squad that is set to leaveWednesday for Lusaka.

The only omissions are goalkeeper Charles Swini, defender Lucky Malata, midfielders Patrick Gunde, Robert Nga’mbi and strikers Gabadinho Mhango, Atusaye Nyondo and Robin Ngalande.

Simplex Nthara is back in the squad so too is Gastin Simkonda and James Sangala.

Announcing his squad during a press conference in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Saintfiet said he decided to leave out Swini and take only two goalkeepers to accommodate for more players.

“We can do with two keepers and I did not see the need for three. We have to have as many players for options,” said Saintfiet.

Saintfiet has also announced that as from on Tuesday he will be the sole spokesperson for the Flames.

“To avoid confusion I will be the only person speaking on behalf of the national team. We are just trying to be professional in the way information is released. I will be free to take any questions from reporters and I promise not to hide information,” he said.

FAM general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda also consented to the arrangement.

The players that are to travel to Zambia are as follows:

Goalkeepers: Simplex Nthara and Owen Chaima

Defenders: James Sangala, Moses Chavula, Douglas Chirambo, John Lanjesi and Bongani Kaipa and Gorge Nyirenda

Midfielders: Joseph Kamwendo, Meceuim Mhone, Chimango Kayira, Young Chimodzi Jnr, Frank Banda Dave Banda, Fischer Kondowe and Ndaziona Chatsalira.

Strikers: Jimmy Zakazaka, Gastin Simkonda, Boniface Kaulesi and Chiukepo Msowoya
