Save the Children hands over desks to Ntcheu
Save the Children in partnership with Future 4 All has handed 680 desks worth K90 million to Ntcheu District Education Office to enhance its efforts to provide quality education.
The donation, through Abwenzi a Ana Programme, seeks to address challenges learners, particularly girls, experience in 12 primary schools.

Speaking on Monday during the handover at Mphepozinayi Primary School in the district, Save the Children programmes manager Esther Gama said they have set aside K2.2 billion towards addressing the challenges children face in the district.
She said: “The programme is working towards addressing discrimination against children.
“So, one of the issues that children face is shortage of desks.”
Gama said the programme seeks to strengthen child protection, improve education, livelihoods, child participation and end child marriages.
Future 4 All executive director Leman Ngaiyaye said they are working with Rays of Hope and Youth for Development and Productivity with support from Save the Children to address challenges children face in the district.
“This programme is trying to ensure that children in Ntcheu are protected from all forms of exploitation,” he said.
Ntcheu district director of education, youths and sports Catherine Gobola Gunde said the support will boost morale among learners.
