Presidential Women Football Cup national finals roll into action tomorrow at Katoto Secondary School ground in Mzuzu with K2 million on the table for eventual champions.

The two-day event will start with a fixture between Moyale Barracks and Rumphi FC before Central Region champions Skippers FC and Southern Region giants Blantyre Zero battle it out.

Blantyre Zero and Skippers will face off in the semis

The final will be played on Sunday afternoon, according to National Women Football Association (NWFA) general secretary Lina Mtegha.

“We conducted the national finals’ draw at half time during the Wednesday Carlsberg Cup clash between Be Forward Wanderers and Mafco FC at Balaka Stadium and now it is time to find out who will grab the ultimate prize,” she said.

Blantyre Zero’s owner Sadiki Malinga and his Skippers’ counterpart Charles Mwenda have described their meeting in the semi-finals as final before the actual final.

“We have put much of our effort in preparing for our semifinal encounter against Skippers because that would be our only stumbling block. We will fight tooth and nail to win the crown,” said Malinga.

According to NWFA, runners-up will receive K750 000 while semi-finalists will get a consolation prize of K250 000 each.

There will be no third-place play-offs. n
