Limdawala: It will be an exciting game

As Muslims are set to complete their fasting period today, MSC Silver and MSC White will this afternoon face off in the finals of Ramadan Special Cricket at Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) in Blantyre.

The competition, which was designed to keep the players’ sporting spirit alive during the month of Ramadan, involved four teams such as Silver, White, Purple and Oriental.

This is the first time in two years that Silver and White meet in a cricket final after doing it during the FMB 20-overs Cricket finals last year. Then, Silver won the crown.

The event’s organising chairperson Saeed Limdawala said the round-robin preliminary games were played in 12-overs due to the fasting, but the final will be played in 15-overs.

“The finals will start at 2pm. It will be an exciting game which will mark our celebration of the fasting period,” he said.

The rivalry of the two sides centres much on the performance of their star players Arsif and Torsif Rustam for Silver and White’s Sunny Tasddud and Aasim. If one pair performs better than the other on the batting, then glory will definitely go their way.
