StakeOut Bar in collaboration with Amaryllis Hotel will on November 7 stage the first edition of their newly introduced lifestyle and entertainment platform Eleve at the hotel’s Splash Rooftop Restaurant.
The organisers said the concept of the event was inspired by 2013 Hollywood romantic drama film The Great Gatsby.
Reads their communication in part: “The concept brings together Amaryllis Hotel’s hospitality experience and Stakeout’s entertainment, event creativity and lifestyle vision to create distinctive, themed experiences.”
Speaking in a separate interview, StakeOut Bar managing director Temwa Banda said the event, dubbed The Great Gatsby Affair, is inspired by the glamour, mystery, sophistication and excess of the Roaring Twenties.
“The intention is not simply to recreate the past, but to bring its spirit into a contemporary rooftop experience. The event will reinterpret the era through fashion, music, décor and immersive entertainment, set against the backdrop of Splash Rooftop,” he said.
The event will feature some signature experiences such as The Gatsby entrance, which will be a grand arrival experience where photographers will capture guests and their fashion statements and a grand walk, a dedicated fashion showcase featuring collaborating designers and their individual interpretations of the roaring twenties.
Banda said the Splash Rooftop Restaurant will be the permanent venue for all the editions of the Eleve.
He said: “The decision to establish Eleve at Splash Rooftop is closely connected to the meaning behind the brand itself. Eleve represents elevation; elevating experiences, creativity, entertainment and the standard of lifestyle events.”
Banda said the future editions will explore other different themes and creative directions, including concepts such as A Night in Paris, Masquerade Noir and Havana.
During the inaugural event, Oath and the Makasu Band will deliver a live musical performance inspired by the original soundtrack of the The Great Gatsby movie and they will be complimented by StakeOut Bar in-house DJs.
