Sulom has said it will only determine the tentative kick-off date of the 2013/14 TNM Super League season by the end of the week.

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) general secretary Williams Banda said they will come up with a date after consultations with sponsors TNM.

“We had a tentative kick-off date, but unfortunately, the sponsor has other commitments during the proposed week.

“So, we should come up with a tentative date by the end of the week after consultations with all stakeholders,” said Banda.

This comes in the wake of the identification of the promoted teams from the three regional leagues.

The three teams that have earned promotion are Super Eagles [North], Evirom [South] and Mponela [Centre], who emerged champions in their respective regional leagues.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) announced recently that from the forthcoming season, they would put in place a harmonised calendar to ensure proper flow of games.

Meanwhile, Sulom has expressed optimism that clubs will be able to adhere to the agreement that from the forthcoming season, all the teams will be required to have contracts with their respective players.

Banda said they do not expect the process to take time as clubs already have an idea on what they offer to their players.

“It shouldn’t be difficult for clubs to draw up contracts for their players because they already have an idea of the agreement they enter into with their respective players. It is just a matter of putting it on paper,” said Banda.

He also said some teams already have contracts with their players.
