TNM plc has announced a $15 000 (K11 million) sponsorship towards the Warm Heart Tour Golf prize money for the winner and second-placed golfer.

TNM management officially announced the sponsorship on Tuesday.

Makata: We will sponsor the pros tour

“We are pleased to inform you that TNM will sponsor the Warm Heart Pros Tour 2018 Golf Tournament Gold Sponsorship Category to the tune of $ 15 000 [K11 025 000],” reads part of the letter from TNM signed by its chief sales and marketing officer Daniel Makata addressed to Professional Golfers Association (PGA), which Weekend Nation has seen.

The sponsorship includes proposed prizes for winners with the champion set to cart home $7 000 [about K5.5 million) and $6 000 [about K4.4 million) as second prize. The balance will go towards managing the event.

The Tour will be held from November 21-25.

A fortnight ago, Toyota Malawi and FDH Bank pumped $10 000 (about K7.3 million) each towards the event.

Shycal: TNM has always supported golf

Shycal thanked TNM for the sponsorship, saying it will add great value to the Warm Heart Tour Golf tournament.

“TNM has always supported golf. It is pleasing that they have ever responded to our proposal favourably. We are very grateful. K11 million is a lot of money and we promise to use the money to the intended purpose,” he said.

In a related development, Shycal has said his office is overwhelmed with requests from golfers from other countries who want to be part of the event.

“Unfortunately, our golf course can only accommodate a maximum of 80 players for the tournament to avoid overcrowding,” explained Shycal.
