TNM to maintain K500m sponsorship
TNM plc has said despite the kwacha losing value, they will maintain the K500 million sponsorship for the TNM Super League in the forthcoming 2025 season.
The mobile network provider’s marketing director Sobhuza Ngwenya was responding to a question during a press briefing in Lilongwe yesterday on whether they will increase the sponsorship considering the high cost of living.

He said: “TNM has been sponsoring this league for 17 years. Just last year, we increased the sponsorship from K150 million to K500 million. We increased by an additional K300 million.
“In this partnership, we agreed that when we are running sponsorship, the brand needs to get some value. We understand the economic situation concerning the money value, but we believe K500 million is a significant amount that can have a significant impact on the football economy and, therefore, we believe we should continue to run at this level.”
Speaking on the awards scheduled for Friday, Ngwenya said the football stakeholders should expect a grand event.
On the upcoming season, Ngwenya said they have put in place all mechanisms to ensure that e-ticketing rolls out fully.
Both TNM and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) said they are committed to working with competition and fair trade regulators to resolve issues involving e-ticketing.
On his part, Sulom vice-president Ronald Chiwaula committed to running the top-flighjt league professionally and that they look forward to a successful awards ceremony.
“Sulom is committed to working with TNM on the use of Mpamba debit card as there is accountability to revenue made during matches which prevents leakages. We are happy to see players benefitting from their hardwork and skills,” he said.
