Mighty Mukuru Wanderers trio of goalkeeper William Thole and midfielders Isaac ‘Tcheya’ Kaliyati and Blessings ‘Nyekezi’ Singini have been nominated for the club’s Player of the Season Award.
The awards will be presented during the club’s Presidential Ball scheduled for tomorrow at a venue yet to be announced.
Thole had a fantastic season between the posts, keeping over 10 clean sheets across all competitions. On the other hand, Kaliyati was the club and TNM Super League top scorer while Singini kept the engines running at the heart of the pitch for the Lali Lubani Road outfit.
Kaliyati and Singini have also been nominated for the Midfielder of the Season Award alongside Gaddie Chirwa while Thole has also been nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Season Award together with Richard Chipuwa and Dalitso Khungwa.
Kaliyati, who was recently voted Sports Personality of the Year in MBC Entertainers of the Year, also appears on the list of most improved player nominees alongside Ahmed Kan’gunde and Emmanuel Nyirenda.
Captain Lawrence Chaziya, his predecessor Stanley Sanudi and Timothy Silwimba will fight for the Defender of the Season Award while Clement Nyondo, Thierry Sama and Misheck Botomani will battle for the Striker of the Season Award.
The trio of Wallace Adam, Dan Kudonto and Chifuniro Kamenya have been nominated for the Rookie of the Season Award.
Meanwhile, the club’s chief executive officer Panganeni Ndovi has said they have stepped up preparations for the event where Mighty Wanderers 2021 Limited president and board chairperson Thomson Mpinganjira will be the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, the club’s communications officer Chimwemwe Kaonga says the fans now have the opportunity to vote for their outstanding players through the official Facebook page.
