Urban music artists will Sunday afternoon converge on Shire Highlands Hotel to witness the launch of reggae dancehall artist Trumel’s mix-tape.

The launch to be backed by Maziko Band will be the defining moment for the artist as he sets off his career under the Nde’feyo Entertainment label.

“To be backed by our own Maziko Band, will distinctly be the innermost moment Trumel unveils his flair and equanimity as he officially sets off his career under the label,” said Nde’feyo’s public relations officer Maurice Nkawihe.

“Blackjak, Shoz, Bucci, Mr. President, Sam Chidothi, Eli K, Biriwiri, Armstrong and Piksy have been lined up to light up the stage for him,” he said.

The mix-tape titled Step Ahead, which reflects the vision and determination of this lyrically blessed artist, comprises old and new songs by Trumel including the hit single, Let It Go. All songs have been produced by Trumel himself.

Nkawihe said the 14-track mix-tape contains mature and breath-taking songs that encompass various issues people experience in life, ranging from love, poverty to success; and it adds up to  efforts and commitments to the development of Malawian art through music.

“Meanwhile, we are working on his Let It Go video to be released soon. Trumel has proven to be another gem on our list of artists with a unique singing talent that motivates the mind in an eccentric way.”

Nkawihe notes that Trumel’s style of music adds new flavour to the Nde’feyo set-up with his conscious reggae dancehall/afro-pop style.

“Nde’feyo is a bridge to get me to the other side…this is the moment I have been waiting for in my career. As a dancehall artist from Malawi, I don’t want to end here, I want to be heard far…being part of Nde’feyo I know where my destiny lies,” Trumel says.

“I have met a lot that would have made me quit music, but God and the support that I have been getting from people got me here. Thinking of the launch, the excitement just incessantly bubbles up inside me. It’s a dream come true and I am working hard for the show to give out the best of me,” adds the artist.
