Usi gives out food in Central Region
Vice-President Michael Usi over the weekend presided over the lean season food distribution exercise to food insecure families in Dedza.
Speaking during the exercise at Chinkhumbe Primary School in Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in the district on Sunday, the VP said government will not let any Malawian die of hunger.

He said hunger knows no boundaries and it is important that the relief food should be distributed equally.
“As you know we are here because of hunger, so no matter the political party you support or the tribe you belong to, everyone is eligible to receive maize and flour,” said Usi.
He called for fairness and transparency in the distribution of food relief items.
One of the beneficiaries, Dalesi Jannah from Kabota Village expressed gratitude for the food.
“We appreciate government for remembering us with the food items as it will help our families to survive,” she said.
On his way to the Dedza, Usi stopped at Chankhungu Trading Centre in Dowa
where he interacted with traders. He also made a stopover in Salima District where he randomly distributed food items.— Malawi News Agency
