Mighty Mukuru Wanderers dropped points for the second time in the 2023 TNM Super League season following a goalless draw against Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium yesterday.

With the result, Wanderers are second on the table with 11 points from five games, two points adrift of FCB Nyasa Bullets.

It was a game that Moyale should have won, having dominated the match, but they failed to score.

Following the draw, Moyale are seventh with six points from five games.

Man of the Match: Misheck Bottomani

Speaking in an interview, Moyale coach Nicholas Mhango said they were denied two penalties.

“We did everything to win the game. We gave Wanderers tough time, particularly in the second half to the extent that we were denied two clear penalties. All in all, we have accepted the results and we will work on our shortfalls,” he said.

Moyale are coming from a 3-1 loss to the league leaders, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

On the other hand, Wanderers captain Alfred Manyozo blamed the draw on the poor condition of the pitch, saying they failed to play their usual passing game.

“The surface of the pitch is too poor. We could not play, but only pushing the ball forward. The condition of the pitch is terrible,” he said.

In other games, Karonga United beat Civil Service United a 1-0 through a 77th minute Saulosi Moyo goal.

The result has put them to position four from six.

Last seasons runners-up Blue Eagles shared the spoils with Dedza Dynamos following a two-all draw at Nankhaka in Lilongwe. Dedza scored through Lameck Gamphani and their man of the moment Clement Nyondo. The Cops scored through Christopher Gototo and Mecium Mhone.

Blues Eagles lie fifth with six points from five games while Dedza are ninth with five pointsfrom the same number of games.
