Flames’ withdrawal has left neighbouring Zambia’s Chipolopolo as the only guests to this year’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup which starts on November 27 in Kenya.

Cecafa conducted the draw on Friday in Nairobi where Zambia were placed in four-member Group B comprising Tanzania, Burundi and Somalia.

The hosts lead Group A also comprising Ethiopia, Zanzibar and South Sudan whereas defending champions Uganda make Group C alongside Rwanda, Sudan and Eritrea.

The matches will be played in Nairobi, Machakos and Mombasa.

The hosts Harambee Stars open their campaign against Ethiopia on November 27 at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

FAM is unable to send the three-time winners the Flames to Kenya after exhausting this year’s funding. Malawi has in the last three Cecafa editions finished in the quarter-finals.
