After dining and partying with Lilongwe fans on Friday night at Zanzi Club, Malawi’s Big Brother Africa (BBA) The Chase evictee Natasha Tonthola on Saturday night received a warm welcome from Blantyre fans at Blue Elephant Club.

Unlike in other BBA parties, Natasha’s welcome back party attracted a huge turnout. By 9pm, the club was almost half full with everyone anticipating the arrival of Mama Africa as Natasha was fondly called by fans.

The party attracted a good number of celebrities, some of them being DJ Ken Klips, Armstrong and Black Missionaries’ Chizondi and Anjiru Fumulani.

However, despite the anticipation, Natasha who travelled the same afternoon from Lilongwe could not be seen at the venue until around midnight. Some people  started to complain through social media posts and shouting from the dance floor after 10pm.

“Where is Natasha? Will she come? We have come here for her,” were some of the posts and comments posted on Facebook and Twitter by some patrons at the club.

Clad in an all blue and black attire—blouse and tight pants, Natasha together with fellow housemate Fatima Nkata arrived at the venue just a few minutes before midnight and they were warmly welcomed.

She could not easily walk from the entrance as everyone wanted to see, take pictures and even hug her. It could be read from her face that she did not expect such an awesome warm welcome.  Together with Fatima, they took to the stage for photos with fans before taking to the dance floor.

“I want to dance with you, but there should be no hugs. Make a circle and I will be dancing at the centre,” she said while on the dance floor.

However, the audience would not obey. She tried to use a popular childhood song “Bwalo likule bwalo likule Charles’ to entice the patrons to create a circle, but it never worked as everyone wanted a close dance with her.

“I am humbled and happy that I am here with you after representing Malawi at BBA. I thank you for the support you gave me when I was in the house and I believe I represented you well. I believe I displayed the real Malawian woman,” she said when given the microphone to greet the audience and her comments attracted a loud applause.

In an interview with the media, Natasha said she will begin the journey from her volunteer projects.

“I want to be an ambassador for the girl child,” said Natasha who was stunningly groomed.

MultiChoice Malawi sales and marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda was overwhelmed by the support Blantyre people gave Natasha.

“I am very impressed. It shows people love BBA and the housemates impressed them,” said Nyirenda.
