Nigerian ace 2Face has hinted at collaborations with Malawian musicians, urging them to summon their energy and strive to surpass their potential because success favours hard workers.

The My African Queen hitmaker (real name Innocent Ujah Idibia), who performed at BAT Ground in Blantyre last Saturday, said this when locals asked him how he became a continental sensation.

2Face attributed his breakthrough to relentless seriousness, saying the journey has never been easy since he dedicated all his life and time to music.

“Music needs seriousness; take it as a full-time job and you will break through. The public is also the key element for any musician’s success. I am here today because Nigerians supported me,” said 2Face.

However, the artists also gained international admirers following a series of collaborations with other pacesetters.

He confessed being ready to collaborate with African musicians, describing his first tour of Malawi as the beginning of opportunities for local artists.

“I am definitely interested to collaborate with Malawian artists. I will not reveal the names of the artists I will collaborate with now from Malawi. We will communicate to the public through the media when agreements are made,” said 2Face.

Dikamawoko’s Tawonga Tadjja Nkhonjera, who also used the same stage as the Nigerian star, said interacting with the artist of 2Face’s standing gives locals hope to make it big beyond the borders.

“We have learnt a lot about 2Face and how he made it in music. He also advised us to work hard and granted us an opportunity to collaborate with him in our projects, which is a stepping stone,” said Nkhonjera.

Equally upbeat was Piksy, who was roped into the cast at the eleventh hour. Having curtain-raised P Square earlier this year, the Airtel poster face thinks he is no longer the same.

“I have benefited a lot from my interaction with 2Face. He shared with us tips of success and we exchanged contacts. We are now connected and there is possibility to collaborate with him in my next songs,” said Piksy.
