My married boss wants me as his ‘second wife’

Dear BMW

I am 25 years old and work as a secretary in a private company. My boss, who is 42 and married with three children, has been making advances toward me. He says he loves me and wants me to be his ‘second wife’.

At first, I thought he was joking, but he has become serious. He buys me gifts, pays my rent and even helps with my younger brother’s school fees. My friends say I should accept because he is wealthy and influential. But deep down, I feel guilty. His wife sometimes visits the office and I feel like a thief stealing another woman’s happiness.

I am confused. Should I continue with this affair or end it before it destroys me?

Conflicted Secretary,

Your story reminds me of the busy streets of Area 47, where traffic flows in many directions, but only one road leads home. Right now, you are standing at a dangerous junction.

A married man who wants you as a second wife is not offering love — he is offering convenience. He is dangling wealth and gifts to trap you in a web that will one day choke you. Remember: the same man who cheats on his wife will one day cheat on you.

Tell him clearly: “I am not your second wife. I am not your secret.” If he truly respected you, he would not ask you to live in the shadows.

BMW says: do not trade your dignity for rent money. You are young, capable and can build your own future without being someone’s hidden affair. Walk away before his promises turn into chains.
