Transport Ministry to showcase projects at trade fair
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works has announced its participation in the 36th Malawi International Trade Fair, scheduled for 21–29 May 2026 at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre.
The Ministry, in a statement, says it will showcase key services, infrastructure projects, technologies, and investment opportunities in the transport and public works sector, while also providing a platform for engagement with stakeholders, investors, development partners, and members of the public.

Reads part of the statement: “The Ministry, together with its departments and agencies, will mount displays featuring physical models, documentaries, interactive demonstrations, branding materials, and audio-visual presentations highlighting major projects and services being implemented across the country.”
According to the Key attractions will include road construction and railway models, aviation and marine displays, engineering equipment exhibitions, and interactive public service demonstrations.

The Ministry’s Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services will demonstrate mobile traffic services, digital payment systems, driver’s licence renewals, and enforcement procedures.
Another department within the Ministry— Plant, Vehicle and Engineering Services— will showcase machinery and technical equipment, including diagnostic tools, embossing machines, and heavy-duty vehicles.
The statement further says the Department of Buildings will exhibit models of major infrastructure projects, including the Capital Hill Office Block, alongside updates on completed and ongoing works.
Participating agencies includes the Roads Authority, Civil Aviation Authority, Airports Development Limited, Department of Railway Services, Malawi Lake Services Limited, Marine College, and the Department of Marine Services.
“The exhibition will further highlight available opportunities for investment and partnerships in areas such as road infrastructure development, airport modernization, rail expansion, marine transport, ports development, and engineering services,” reads the statement.
The Ministry says the Trade Fair will promote transparency, innovation, and collaboration in line with the National Transport Master Plan.
