All good things must come to an end at some point.

Likewise, the organising committee of the Lab Enterprise Match Play golf competition has said all is set for the grand finale slated for today at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).

BSC golf captain Hudson Kantwanje said the finals promise to be exciting and the singles and doubles finalists are set for the contests.

“It has been a very exciting competition full of surprises and thrills and we are looking forward to a thrilling end as well,” said Kantwanje.

Last year’s singles champion Nestor Msowoya as well as doubles champions’ Edwin Chipala and Donbell Mandala will not make the prize list as they fell by the wayside during the tournament.

Instead, it will be either Furkan Gani or Margaret Mukwenha in the singles category. As for the doubles, the Kalambule couple—Sophie and Medson—will be up against Andrew Santhe and Adriano Guarino.

To spice up the event, there will also be individual stableford plate event for all those who lost on the way and those who did not participate in the match play and the draw conducted on Thursday.

The tournament also has a charity touch as every birdie and eagle will go with K1 000 each that will be given to the chip-in masters for Blantyre golfers to determine the beneficiaries.

Lab   Enterprise managing director Noel Lipipa described the tournament as exciting.

“We believe our aim of bringing together golfers was fulfilled and for the first time, we have a female golfer in the finals of the singles category. To add on to that, this year just like the previous edition we have a couple in the doubles finals and that makes it more exciting,” said Lipipa.
