Bullets expect cut from Gaba’s deal

Big Bullets claim that although they terminated Gabadinho Mhango’s contract, they expect to get a cut from his agency Prosport International.
Bullets general secretary Higger Mkandawire also claimed that the move to terminate Gaba’s contract was by design to speed up the deal between Prosport International and South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Bloemfontein Celtic.
“A lot was said when we terminated the player’s contract, but we knew what we were doing. It was done for the good of the player, ourselves and Malawi football in general.
“The issue would have been complicated if we did not terminate the contract because the player was also under Prosport, who were directly dealing with Celtic,” said Mkandawire.
It has emerged that the player is now fully owned by Prosport who will sell him to Celtic and Bullets will only negotiate for a cut.
“It is true that we will only get a cut upon completion of the deal. Now that Gaba has acquired a work permit, we will push for our cut from Prosport,” he said.
But Mkandawire could not say how much they are expecting from the agency.
“We will contact them to find out how much they got from Celtic and the figure will determine how much we should ask for,” he said.
He dismissed speculation that the club already got its cut from the deal.
“You can check with Prosport, we have not yet received a penny from the deal,” he said.
