Capital City Motel management has constructed a new  entertainment joint specifically for jazz sessions and local food dishes every Sunday.

The jazz sessions will be headlined by soul and R&B musician Lulu starting from September 3.

Speaking during a press conference to announce the news, Capital City Motel owner George Tambala said the concept of having jazz sessions every Sunday will provide Lilongwe City residents with assured and quality entertainment.

Lulu: I am glad to be part of this project

“Before other avenues started having jazz sessions, it was Capital City Motel who first introduced this concept in the 1990s. What we have done is just to reintroduce the practice, but now in a better and conducive environment and facilities. As you can see, this place is conducive for family entertainment or just fun time. We have a huge parking space to ensure security of vehicles,” said Tambala who was in the company of Lulu.

On his part, Lulu promised to give massive shows every time, saying jazz is about expression of one’s music.

“Some people think jazz is boring music but contrary to those assertions, jazz is an entertainment, emotional and soulful package. It is about playing the same music I play but putting in much more expression to touch people. I am glad to be part of this project and I can assure fans of great fun,” said Lulu.

Tambala said for the sake of variety, though Lulu is the main act, they will also invite other bands and musicians to perform.

“People are different with variance in terms of music preferences. We will give people a lot of options so that they can experience their type of music. We want people to really enjoy and appreciate that they have spent their money well,” said Tambala
