A story carried in the Nation on Sunday of December 15 2024 revealed that car parks in town are used for tête-à-tête by sex workers and their clients. The story outlined under aged sex workers, who are seemingly on the rise, narrating their experiences from the time they were first introduced to the trade right through to how they conduct their transactions. This is where I learned about the convenience of car parks and a K1 000 pay out to guards. I assume the guards are paid to allow usage of the premises and be on the lookout.
This is what society has reduced morals to a mere K1 000 and K6 000 for the girls to satisfy a man’s raging emotions. The very spaces designated for cars have become avenues for defiling our youngsters with security officers aiding and abetting the crime for a bag of worthless silver. I am sure the caliber of clients rangers widely from those assigned the responsibility of protecting girls by nature of their jobs. But at the end of the day, every adult has the mandate to protect youngsters, but here we are talking about girls being defiled in plain sight and nobody cares to do anything about it.
For starters, an adult procuring sex from minors is the biggest fool to even consider a parking space to commit such an atrocity. The guard is the second fool for being an accomplice while the youngster is simply misguided. They connive to rob teenagers of their innocence just for a few minutes of pleasure. And many return to park their cars atop the very place where evil freely resides while we all look away.
This is a call to everyone concerned. I have written here before about authorities turning a blind eye to the booming sex trade among underaged girls who are supposedly protected by the land’s laws. Anyone who inappropriately touches the girls is prosecuted, but when it is the girls allowing it for monetary gains, no one is saying anything. Go to car parks and patrol them to corner these culprits and traders alike. It is a matter off a few days and these trends can be exposed. Bring back the sanity in these car parks and anywhere else where many go to defile girls. There is no excuse for girls to be selling sex just as there is no rationale for men to get hooked by minors.
I expect a level of sanity across a wider section of society to rise up against these acts. Those in the same boat as the men who procure young girls are probably laughing and wondering why we should care or worry about this. They probably wonder why we are talking about it now when it may have been happing for a while. Well, that’s why I believe there is a section bigger than these nitwits to trample on them. The time is now.
