Phyzix launches foundation
Hip hop artist Phyzix, born Noel Chikoleka, has launched the Phyzix Cares Foundation, a non-profit organisation to drive community development.
Speaking in an interview, the Cholapitsa hitmaker said the foundation marks a formal step in his 13-year journey of giving back to people through charitable initiatives and development projects.
“This foundation enhances my efforts to support communities,” he said.
Phyzix has attributed his passion for charity work to his upbringing in a giving family and Christian roots.
The foundation is focused on supporting and empowering youths through skills training, mentorship programmes and educational opportunities while also advocating for improved healthcare services in underserved areas.
“As artists, our impact goes beyond music. Spreading love is not just about performances or releasing songs, but also uplifting communities that do so to us when we are on stage or release our works” said Phyzix.
Among others, the foundation also aims to create more partnerships, building on past collaborations with organisations such as the British Council and Hallmark Limited.
Hallmark Limited managing director Gift Gondwe said they are pleased to work with the foundation. He noted that the two firms have developed a shared commitment to giving back.
“We believe in corporate social responsibility and supporting the less fortunate. This partnership aligns perfectly with our goals and we look forward to making an impact in people’s lives,” he said.
Planned activities for December include fundraising with part of the proceeds going toward Christmas celebration with children at orphanages.
Phyzix is set to perform at Blues in Blantyre on December 21 and Flamingo in Lilongwe the following day.
