Carlsberg says Wanderers, Bullets in contention

Carlsberg Malawi Limited says both Wanderers and Bullets have done enough to earn the brewers’ sponsorship but ‘a thorough determination’ will now break the tie.

Carlsberg’s senior brands manager (alcoholics)  Twikale  Chirwa commented on the sponsorship after watching Bullets beat Nomads 3-0 on Sunday.

“We understand the season ends in February. That is when we will make a statement after a thorough determination. Both Wanderers and Bullets have put up strong determination for the sponsorship,” said Chirwa.

Carlsberg, apart from bankrolling the Carlsberg Cup, are this season funding both Bullets and Wanderers with the one that impresses in fair play, performance and discipline set to get the final nod.

The two teams are in contention for the Super League title with Bullets placed third on 42 points and Wanderers fifth on 35 points.

They also equalled on cup honours with Bullets earning the Presidential Cup and Wanderers getting the Standard Bank Knockout Trophy.
