CDHIB clinches 13th Investment Bank of the Year Award
London-based Global Banking and Finance Review Magazine has named CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB) Malawi’s Investment Bank of the Year 2026, marking the 13th time the institution has received the award.
The recognition comes as the investment lender records strong earnings growth, expands its balance sheet and deepens its presence in Malawi’s capital markets.

In a statement, Global Banking and Finance Review Magazine says the award recognises the bank’s performance, innovation and leadership in investment banking.
CDHIB chief executive officer and managing director Thoko Mkavea said the recognition reflects the contribution of the bank’s 107 employees as well as the confidence of its clients and business partners.
“This recognition reflects the quality of our vision and above all, the passion, resilience and excellence of our people,” he said.
Mkavea said CDHIB, a subsidiary of Malawi Stock Exchange-listed Continental Holding plc, will continue to invest in talent, technology and institutional integrity as it seeks to raise standards in Malawi’s financial sector.
He also credited clients for their role in the institution’s development, describing their trust and continued partnership as central to its progress.
The award adds to a period of substantial financial expansion for the bank with its profit after-tax increasing from K7.5 billion in 2022 to K11.1 billion in 2023 before more than doubling to K23.5 billion in 2024.
Earnings have increased by a further 84 percent to K43.2 billion in 2025.
The momentum has continued in the first half of this year, with profit after-tax rising by 124 percent to K41 billion.
