Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chancellor College students’ wing has cautioned the party against flouting the due process of electing leaders at the forthcoming convention scheduled to take place next week in Blantyre.

“Any small indication of dictatorship or flouting of rules is viewed with suspicion and usually translates to disasters at the ballots,” reads a statement signed by Alfred Muwamba and Diverson Mwanyongo acting president and secretary general respectively.

The statement has been sent to the party’s secretary general Allan Chiyembekeza.

“We would like to humbly request you sir to make sure that the elections in all positions at the convention are not only free and fair but that are also conducted in a non-intimidating environment. DPP Chanco Wing would want to see justice prevailing in all the positions vacant,” reads the statement.

But Chiyembekeza said althought the party has not recieved the communication, laws can not be bent.
