Former Nyasa Big Bullets and Flames midfielder Chimango Kayira has signed for Mozambican top-flight league team Associação Desportiva De Vilankulo.

This comes barely three weeks after the TNM Super League champions released him alongside seasoned campaigners Chiukepo Msowoya, Sankhani Mkandawire, Pilirani Zonda, Nelson Kangunje, Zicco Mkanda, Bright Munthali and Dalitso Sailesi.

Kayira, who has had a stint in Mozambique at Costol do Sol, wrote on his Facebook page that he is happy to have clinched a deal away from home.

Kayira: I have found
a new home

“I thank God for the opportunity to avoid playing against Bullets, the team I love most, this season. Now that I have found a new home, I wish the People’s Team all the best in their endeavours,” he said.

The deal also comes barely two days after disputing that he has quit football.

“I would like to distance myself from a content circulating in the media that I am quitting  football because I am not in Bullets coach’s plans and that I can’t work with any other coach in Malawi apart from him,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chiukepo is training with Bullets rivals Mighty Be Forward Wanderers while Sankhani has joined Blue Eagles.

But Mkanda announced that he has quit football to concentrate on his business and studies, according to a post on his Facebook Page.

“I think this is the right time I should take a break and focus a bit on my studies as you know I am a final year student doing Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management. Also I have businesses I need to focus on,” he said.

In a related development, Bullets released Paul Kansungwi, Ben Manyozo and Luke Chima on mutual consent.

Kansungwi has returned to Red Lions and Manyozo is linked with Blue Eagles.
