Chintheche Cycling Club in Nkhata Bay is appealing to the corporate citizens to assist it with bicycles or funds.
The club, which was formed last year, aims at keeping the youth away from dangerous behaviours. It has ran various initiatives to support the development of cycling, but lack of sponsorship has hindered growth of the club’s activities.
In an interview on Tuesday, award-winning former Malawi national cycling team coach Mdoyi David Phiri, who is also the director of the club, said some people who pledged support earlier on have not fulfilled their promises; hence, the renewed appeal.
