Creck crack as Bullets go top
FCB Nyasa Bullets swept aside Creck Sporting Club 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre yesterday to displace their arch-rivals Mighty Wanderers from the top of the TNM Super League courtesy of superior goal difference.
What many thought would be another explosive encounter turned out to be a one-sided affair as the Lilongwe-based Creck Sporting Club yesterday cracked under pressure.
Bullets, who tie at six points from two games with Wanderers, Ekhaya FC, Moyale Barracks and Karonga United, have since moved to the top of the log table on goal difference.

On the other hand, Creck anchor the 16-team league with no point, having lost their opening game by a similar margin to PremierBet Dedza Dynamos.
After playing out a goalless draw in Airtel Top 8 on Saturday, it was envisaged that the league encounter would be the same.
In the first 15 minutes indeed the match was a balanced affair.
Both sides made some incursions into each other’s area and Creck even had the first shot on target when Patrick Mupanzi’s header called Bullets goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu to duty in the seventh minute from captain Hadji Wali‘s corner kick.
Nyasulu went on to save George Chaomba’s shot four minutes later from another set piece.
But the Lilongwe-based outfit cracked in the 19th minute when attacking midfielder Wongani Lungu slotted past Creck goalkeeper Brighton Munthali after he was played in by Chikumbutso Salima following some neat passes that split the opposition’s defence.
Munthali then stopped Bullets from doubling the lead in the 36th minute, saving Lungu’s shot from another Salima assist.
But the Flames international could not keep out Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju’s low shot in the 40th minute from Mike Mkwate’s sleek pass in the box following Lloyd Aaron’s spade work, who started the move deep in midfield.
A drizzle at half-time cooled off things for Creck, who could not believe they were trailing by two goals against a team they held just four days earlier.
But after recess, things went from bad to worse for the visitors as Bullets added two more quick goals within 10 minutes.
Man-of-the-match Salima got on the scorers sheet with a brilliant finish from Lungu’s assist in the 52nd minute.
Five minutes later, Yamikani Mologeni netted the fourth after a blitz of a counter-attack, again Salima with the assist.
From then on it was one-way traffic as Bullets knocked the ball around and also missed some scoring opportunities.
But Creck managed to score the consolation through Kondwani Chilembwe, who took advantage of substitute Seun McBrams’ mistake in the 90th minute.
Creck coach Joseph Kamwendo in post match interview conceded the defeat.
He said: “We didn’t play today. We gave Bullets too much respect, we to accept the defeat and we’ll go back to the drawing board and try to win our next match.”
His Bullets counterpart Peter ‘Mjojo’ Mponda said the only difference from their last match were the goals.
He said: “The way we played is the same way we played last weekend. Unfortunately we didn’t win on the day, but today we managed to create enough chances.”
