However, they noticed the challenges learners face in science lessons at Luviri CDSS due to lack of laboratory apparatuses.

In an interview, Danish students representative My Mansa Hansen said lack of such equipment directly affects the students’ performance in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (Stem).

She said: “We heard that the school is one of the best performers at district and national level with results of 98 % pass rate for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.

However, we saw the challenges that they face; hence, we thought of donating the equipment for the students to continue performing well in Stem subjects.”

Luviri CDSS students president Fortune Luhanga thanked thei r Dani sh counterparts for the equipment.

The school’s teacher representative Davison Mhone also expressed sincere gratitude for the support and hailed the good relationship between the school and Danish Church Aid.

“Last year, we were one of the boarding schools with 98 percent pass rate in MSCE results and the highest student got 12 points,” she said.
