DPP’s Wild Ndipo re-elected as Blantyre Mayor

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor Wild Ndipo has been re-elected Mayor of Blantyre City at elections the council held at the Civic Centre in Blantyre on Friday.

Ndipo amassed 20 of the 29 votes to secure re-election over Gertrude Chirambo, who got five votes and Eric Mofolo, who scooped four votes.

Councillor Joseph Makwinja, was also re-elected deputy mayor, after getting 12 votes.

Mwakwinja floored Jomo Osman, who got 10 votes and Funny Kanojerera (four votes).

Six members of Parliament and 23 councillors turned up for the vote.
