Ecobank Malawi donates K2m towards Ngoni cultural festival

Ecobank Malawi has given K2 million towards Umhlangano Cultural Festival slated for September 1 to 3 in Ntcheu District.

Speaking during the handover of the cheque in Blantyre on Wednesday, Ecobank Malawi head of human resources Frank Sabola said as a pan-African bank, they want to support the initiative that forms part of a rich African and Malawian heritage.

“We believe that this donation will go a long way in making this event a great success,” he said.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Maseko Ngoni Heritage, Inkosi Phambala thanked Ecobank Malawi for the timely gesture.

He said: “On behalf of Inkosi Ya Makhosi Gomani V and the Maseko Ngoni Heritage, I would like to express our deep sense of gratitude and appreciation to Ecobank Malawi for this financial support.

“We call on individuals, businesses and the corporate world to emulate the kind gesture made by Ecobank Malawi.”
