FAM has expressed satisfaction with the state of UJ Esuene Stadium in Nigeria which will host Saturday’s decisive 2014 World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and the Flames.

The stadium is located at the heart of Calabar.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda expressed contentment after inspecting the facility on Tuesday.

“We are happy with the conditions both on and off the pitch, generally it is suitable to host such a high-profile game,” said Nyirenda.

The FAM CEO said the facility seats 25 000 people and was recently upgraded to include a multi-modern video matrix scoreboard and floodlights.

Nyirenda also announced that the match is scheduled to kick off at 5pm local time.

According to the FAM CEO, the Flames who are expected to arrive in Nigeria today, will be training at University of Calabar (Unica) and will get the feel of the match venue tomorrow.

He also said they are happy with the progress of arrangements for the match.
