He said: “We officially welcome a strategic partner committed to the growth and success of our game.
“We unveil a product designed to instil pride and confidence in our national teams, The Flames, Scorchers, and our junior teams.
“We present a bold new identity to the millions of Malawians who proudly wear the colours of black, red, and green.”
The partnership with Admiral means they w i l l take over manufacturing of FAM’s Moto brand, previously produced by Chinese suppliers, according to Haiya.
He said: “In recent years, our national teams have proudly worn kits under our own Moto brand, a symbol of Malawian pride. However, these kits were produced in collaboration with Asian firms, offering limited benefits to our association and fans.
“As part of our commitment to transforming the game, we recognized the need to elevate our national teams’ apparel and embrace a commercially-driven, high-quali ty approach. Our objective was clear: to provide world-class kits while creating a sustainable merchandise line for our passionate supporters.
“To achieve this, we engaged with multiple firms, searching for the right partner, one who would not only enhance the Moto brand but also deliver superior quality, a wider range of merchandise, and greater commercial value.”
The FAM president said FAM also stands to benefit from the agreement since revenue generated from merchandise sales will directly support national team activities.
“Admiral is a globally respected brand, with a rich history of manufacturing premium sports equipment for elite teams around the world. This partnership is more than just a supplier agreement; it is a strategic alliance that will strengthen Malawian football.
“Through this agreement, all our national teams will have access to top-t ier equipment, gear that will inspire confidence as they compete against the best on the continent. Beyond the field, this partnership also has immense commercial value.
“Admiral will introduce a tiered merchandise system, making official team apparel available at affordable prices. This ensures that fans across all income levels can proudly wear the official colours of our national teams.
“Additionally, revenue generated from merchandise sales will directly support national team activ ities, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the Football Association of Malawi.”
Admiral South Africa general manager Roger Livesey in his remark s pledged to promote and develop Malawi football.
He said: “We are excited to see the Flames and all Malawi national football teams putting on our unique and quality brand that will take Malawi to the heights of success. This partnership will enhance both the brand and FAM internationally.”
The new kit will now have FAM, Admiral and Moto logos, according to FAM commercial and marketing manager Tulipo Mwenelupembe.
He said: “It is a partnership between the two brands, hence attaching value to the sponsorship.
“We also have the moto logo on the kits. It’s not between FAM and Admiral but Admiral and moto, a brand owned by FAM.”
Meanwhile, FAM says it plans to open an online store for the merchandise in May.
