Zakazaka: It is now online

FAM on Friday returned to the information highway with the re-launch of the association’s website and facebook pages to keep the football followers abreast of football happenings.

“The Football Association of Malawi website is now officially online. Follow all soccer news and developments from the soccer mother body by clicking at www.fam.mw. You can also get us on our facebook page @ Football Association of Malawi,” wrote the association’s competitions officer Gomezgani Zakazaka last week.

The website breaks sports news, especially for the Flames, thereby keeping fans updated. There are some statistics for leading scorers for club and country.

Sustaining websites has, due to exhorbitant costs, proved a challenge for most domestic football bodies, including the Super League of Malawi and the clubs. Silver Strikers and Sulom had their websites in infant stages, but never survived for long.

Elsewhere, football bodies use website as advertising platforms, thereby generating money.
