Fama to accommodate all film makers
Film Association of Malawi (Fama) has called on all film makers to be members of the association.
Fama president Joel Mkandawire made the call over the weekend during Fama Northern chapter awareness meeting held at Mzuzu Museum aimed at sensitising stakeholders what Fama is all about.
Mkandawire said by joining the association, the film makers will be able to share ideas and boost the industry, arguing the association is the potential platform.
He said the members will also benefit from training in cinematography and other fields of film making.
The Fama president said the association will start hiring film making equipment, like cameras, and microphones to its members.
“Fama aims at developing the film industry. The film industry is very profitable if handled with expertise and will help develop the country in increasing exports and bringing forex,” said Mkandawire.
He added that the association is planning to have chapters in the country’s three regions. Currently there is only the Northern chapter.
