Family, partners assist Cyclone Freddy Victims

The Kaunga Family in partnership with Defence Force Lugalo and Dar Gymkhana Clubs from Tanzania has donated relief items to families whose properties and crops were damaged by Cyclone Freddy Thyolo and Mulanje districts.

The items donated include maize flour, sugar, clothes, beddings, shoes among others.

Relief items being distributed to the victims

Speaking in an interview, Webster Kaunga said they were so touched and disturbed when we saw images in the social media about the devastation and destruction caused by Cyclone Freddy.

“We approached the leadership of Defence Force Lugalo and Dar Gymkhana Clubs, who generously made an appeal to golfers for donations. With their support, we collected various items, and we are grateful to the Malawi High Commission Office in Tanzania for assisting us with the necessary documentation to facilitate the smooth transportation of these items to Malawi.

One of the survivors Rose Nyalugwe, expressed gratitude towards the Kaunga family and partners for their timely support to the affected households where also the elderly have been reached with the aid.
