Barely a week after clinching their first-ever title during the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) 25 Overs Cricket finals, MSC Fattani Gold eye a second crown as they face Indian Sports Club (ISC) in the finals of Cricket Academy Knockout Trophy at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC).

Fattani Gold, who ended MSC Orange’s six-year NBM Cricket dominance after chasing down a target of 155 runs in 22 Overs, made it into the finals of the eight-team knockout trophy after outsmarting Oriental Cricket Club by three runs in the semi-finals three weeks ago.

“This is our year. We want to take everything that comes on to our table,” challenged Gold’s captain Soheil Manjra. “We are definitely going to be the cricket champions again come Sunday afternoon.”

Gold’s in-form paceman Sadik Bhatti, who emerged man-of-the-match during the NBM contest following his individual contribution of 77 runs, will probably be the man to watch.

Bhatti is an enterprising batsman who is fast on pace and makes subtle batting that eludes opponents. Apart from taking the man-of-the match accolade in the NBM finals, he also made 80 runs in the quarter-finals and 77 runs in the semis.
