Coach-less and inactive Flames have gone down by two seats on the latest Fifa/Coca-Cola rankings released yesterday.

Malawi is in the world now ranked 124, down from 122 last month, while also sliding by two steps in Africa from 33 to 35, according to www.fifa.com.

Lying 12th in Africa and 61st in the world, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana lead the Cosafa bloc which has the Flames placed sixth.

Ivory Coast lead Africa followed in order by Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria and Mali occupying the continent’s top five seats.

There is still no toppling world and Europe kings Spain from being number one in the world. Germany, Argentina, Columbia and Belgium make up the world’s top-five bracket.

“The preliminary competition for the 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil is drawing to a close. Unsurprisingly, the 69 qualifiers played since the last edition of the Fifa/Coca-Cola World Ranking, as well as the 20 friendlies and ten preliminary matches for continental competitions, have had a significant effect on the global ladder,” reads www.fifa.com.
